Wild Fox Referrals
Referral guidelines
You make the introduction. We do everything else. These guidelines keep the program simple for you and fair for everyone.
- Only refer people you actually know, and actually recommend us to them
- Don't quote, promise, or speak for Wild Fox
- Log the introduction as soon as you've made it; the customer confirms the rest
What counts as a referral
A referral counts when
- You know the person — a friend, neighbor, family member, client, coworker, someone you've worked with.
- You've actually introduced or recommended Wild Fox Painting & Drywall to them, and they can confirm it when we reach out. "My Realtor sent me" or "our carpenter gave us your number" is enough; the full name isn't required.
- You log the introduction (or they use your code or link) before they talk to us about the project.
A referral doesn't count when
- You send us a name and number without ever recommending us. Registering a name isn't a referral; the introduction is.
- You saw someone asking for a painter in a Facebook group, on Nextdoor, or in a marketplace and passed along their name.
- They were already talking to Wild Fox, or have hired us before.
- They can't confirm that you introduced or recommended us.
- It's a customer or project Wild Fox already had. More scope turning up on a job we're already doing isn't a new introduction, even if you were on site.
- It's your own home, your household, or a business you own.
- You're already being paid for the same work another way: for example a general contractor who carries our work inside their own contract, or someone paid a sales commission to bring us the project. One opportunity, one form of compensation.
Do
- Tell people plainly: "I know a good painting company — Wild Fox. Use my code and they'll know I sent you."
- Log the introduction right after you make it. If two people refer the same customer, we look at who registered first and who the customer says actually introduced us; generally the first valid one gets credit.
- Give them your code or link. It makes matching easy.
- Keep your payout details and W-9 current in your account so payments aren't held.
Don't
- Quote prices, guess at costs, or promise when we can start. You're making an introduction, not selling a job.
- Say you work for Wild Fox or represent us.
- Post your code publicly, run ads with it, or add it to listings and websites. It's for people you know.
- Text, email, or message people you don't know about Wild Fox.
- Offer to split your commission with the customer to get them to hire us.
- Ask us for the customer's estimate, pricing, or project details. We keep that between us and the customer.
What happens after you submit
- Wild Fox reaches out to the customer within one business day and confirms with them that you introduced or recommended us. That confirmation is what makes the referral valid.
- You'll see the referral move from Submitted to Approved in your dashboard, with an email each step.
- If the customer hires us, you'll see Won, then In progress, then Complete.
- When the customer has paid in full, your commission shows as Earned. It's paid in the next payout run.
How you get paid
Your commission is 3% of what the customer actually pays Wild Fox for the project. It's earned when the work is done and the customer has paid in full. We run payouts once or twice a month, so a job that finishes on the 3rd is paid in the run after the 15th, not the same day.
Projects under $1,000 don't earn a commission. Cancelled jobs, unpaid balances, and refunds don't either.
